Are your classes in person or virtual?

We offer both In Person and Virtual classes (on Zoom). Please see individual class descriptions for details.

How much do your classes cost?

Our 5-week classes cost $20. Our 10-week classes cost $40.

Question 3

Do you have to be a gay elder to take these classes?

Accepted Answer

You don't have to be gay nor do you have to be an elder. We welcome everyone to attend and learn.

Question 4

How long are your classes?

Accepted Answer

Our classes are all 90-minutes long. Most meet for five consecutive weeks. A few of our classes meet for ten weeks.

Can you register for a class after it has started?

Yes, you can. But some classes have a limit to the number of attendees. And if that limit is reached, classes are then closed.

What if a class is closed? Can I still register?

If a class has reached its limit of attendees, you will be put on a waiting list.

Question 7

If I am put on the waiting list for a class, what should I expect?

If additional space opens in a course, people on the waiting list will receive an email notification from Rainbow.  The student will be prompted to pay for the class. Once payment is received, the student will be moved to active status.

Do you offer scholarships?

We do offer scholarships to people who cannot afford the class. Contact us to learn more about this.

What is your policy about using AI?

Accepted Answer

Rainbow Lifelong Learning Institute classes and events conducted on-line use Zoom’s AI Companion transcription to automatically generate session summaries. These summaries are available upon request to registered students who miss a class. They typically include key discussions, important announcements, and relevant assignments. Speakers are identified by their first names. Rainbow respects the privacy of all students. If you have concerns, you may use a pseudonym to identify yourself on Zoom.
